Nach dem großen Erfolg von Johnny Cashs Album „Personal File”, das zukünftig mit der Ergänzung „Bootleg Vol.1“ veröffentlicht wird, erscheint nun der zweite Teil: „From Memphis To Hollywood: Bootleg Vol.2“ (Vö. 18.02.). Die neue Doppel-CD präsentiert insgesamt 57 Songs.


Angefangen bei seinen ersten privaten Demos, bevor er bei Sun Records unter Vertrag genommen wurde, bis hin zu Titeln die er in den 1960er Jahren für Columbia aufnahm. CD 1 widmet sich zu Beginn einem KWEM Radio Broadcast (Memphis, 1955), beinhaltet weiterhin elf bisher unveröffentlichte Demos, sieben Raritäten von Sun Records aus den Jahren 1954-1957 und zusätzliche Outtakes.


Die zweite CD bietet 25 Songs, darunter Singles, B-Seiten und weitere Outtakes aus der Columbia-Zeit. Songs wie Johnny Cashs Interpretation von „One Too Many Mornings” (im Original von Bob Dylan) oder die beiden bisher unveröffentlichten Demos „Six White Horses“ und „Come Along And Ride This Train” zählen zu den zahlreichen Höhepunkten dieses Albums. „From Memphis To Hollywood: Bootleg Vol.2“ ermöglicht es, auf beeindruckende Weise gleichermaßen Johnny Cashs musikalische Wurzeln als auch den Weg zu den späten „American Recordings“ nachzuvollziehen.
