Runrig - "Stepping Down The Glory Road" (6 CD-Set)
Mit ihrer Symbiose aus gaelisch-keltischer Musiktradition, Mitsing-Hymnen, einfühlsamen Balladen und Rocksongs avancierte die Band RUNRIG zu einer der führenden internationalen Folk-Rock-Formationen. Neben Großbritannien verzeichnete die schottische Band von der Insel Skye insbesondere auch in Deutschland bis heute große Erfolge. Zum 40-jährigen Bandjubiläum erscheint am 28.06. die 6-CD-Box “Stepping Down The Glory Road (The Chrysalis Years 1988-1996)”. Dieses Set enthält alle fünf Studioalben und die beiden Live-CDs, die RUNRIG beim Label Chrysalis veröffentlichten.
„Stepping Down The Glory Road (The Chrysalis Years 1988-1996)“ bietet 98 Songs der Ära mit dem Sänger Donnie Munro - inklusive zahlreicher Bonustitel. Darunter Hymnen wie „Alba“, „Hearts Of Golden Glory“, „Every River“, “Flower Of The West” oder “Wonderful”. Das Arrangement des Traditional “Loch Lomond” wurde für die RUNRIG-Fans zu einer Art zweiten Nationalhymne. Der Song in der Liveversion ist in dem Set auf CD 1 zu finden. Der Name RUNRIG ist übrigens ein Begriff aus dem Mittelalter und bezeichnete in Schottland eine traditionelle Form des Ackerbaus, bei der das Land gemeinsam bewirtschaftet wurde.
